WebParenTips - The Online Parenting Newsletter
              vol.7 no.3, March 2006

SUBSCRIBERS, SHOULD I CONTINUE THE NEWSLETTERS?

At the end of the year 2000 I started ParentKidsRight.com with the wonderful
creative and technical help of Will Johnson of NetProfitNow. Sadly, Will died
suddenly in January which is why subscribers did not receive a February
newsletter. He will be missed.

Why did I start ParentKidsRight? My goal was to provide today?s busy parents
with parenting strategies that work. Each month I add to the website at least
two new ParenTips which contain useful information about a parenting topic. I
pick the topics based on 1) the questions I get addressed to the website (If
you missed it there is an ?email us? place to click on the Home Page and
indeed on most of the other website pages. Click on ?email us?and I get
your email in a flash although it may take me a few days to reply due to the
volume of your emails.) 2) the letters I get from readers of my parenting
newspaper column 3) the questions posed to me at the end of one of my parenting
lectures or workshops.

Also each month I send all of my subscribers a free newsletter like the one you
are reading now. The newsletters are shorter and topical. For example the
newsletter that arrived early in January dealt with New Year?s resolutions
for parents. The ParenTips I post monthly are generally longer and have a
strong educational focus.

I need your feedback. Should I continue the Newsletters? If so do you like
receiving them in your Inbox or would you prefer an announcement containing a
link? Any ideas for topics or format?
Shift to a blog? Cease publishing the newsletters and concentrate on more
ParenTips? While you?re giving me feedback about the newsletters I also
welcome your ideas about the format or content of the ParenTips as well as
comments on the usefulness of the site as a whole?

I have been providing parenting information on the PKR website and in my
personal answers to those site visitors who email me for over five years. I
have never charged for these services nor permitted any advertising. I don?t
sell names of subscribers.

Why do I do all this for free? Because I made a lot of dumb parenting mistakes
myself even though I was a board certified pediatrician when I had my children.
Later I realized my parenting mistakes were made out of ignorance about
children?s needs at changing stages of development, about my own needs, and
about which specific strategies worked. Through the years I figured out a lot
of these strategies and want to share them with parents. I am passionate about
my commitment to help today?s parents avoid parenting mistakes.

So in return for my work for you, please take the time to answer my questions by
clicking on to info@parentkidsright.com. Thanks!

Happy Parenting,
Marilyn Heins, M.D.
